This is the textbook example of the quality that Spain puts out at the Crianza level. It’s a 2022 vintage, so you’re getting a wine with some age on it for $16.

For the money, this wine is a stunner and will keep for another three years. I know I’m going to try, but I doubt I’ll find a greater red wine value this summer.

Nose of crushed blackberries, blueberries, black pepper, cedar and slate with those characteristics replaying on the palate. The tannins are fine and nicely integrated, highlighting all that dark fruit.

There’s a lot going on here, and you may want to toss a few in the cellar to impress friends and family in the years ahead.

This wine scored 95 points at the Decanter World Wine Awards.
