Miraval

Miraval hit shelves in 2012 and was immediately referred to as the Brangelina wine. 

While the wine is made by famed Famille Perrin, Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie had a financial stake in the production of this rosé. 

Miraval entered the market as a premium-priced wine. As a result of a healthy suspicion around celebrity products, I gave it a miss.

Now with increasing wine prices across the board, Miraval seems less expensive in context.

On the nose, you’ll detect wild strawberry, rose, sweet pastry, red currant and a hint of orange.

Trying it for the first time, I’m happy to learn that it is a very appealing rosé. The softly sensual mouthfeel adds as much to the experience as the melange of delicate berry fruit.

Miraval contains a small amount of the white grape Rolle (aka Vermentino) which adds a freshness along with floral notes. It’s considered the secret weapon in the success of so many of France’s best rosés.

If you see it on sale, you’ll want more than one.
